low sodium rate

Post a new topicby Jinny on Thu Jul 17, 2008 12:04 am

Hello all...
Tonight as I saw my sister in the rehab, they indicated that she had a low sodium level I believe the number was 126. Could you please explain to me what that means and what they will do about that. Thanks.

Sodium is one of the salt electrolytes we have in our blood. As you noted it has a normal range and the value you report is low. They check electrolytes regularly to make certain they are in their normal ranges. They should be able to bring the value back to within its normal range quickly.
