Atrovent vs Xopenex/Albutrerol

Post a new topicby Guest on Thu Aug 29, 2002 1:34 am

Our Daughter 19 months with CF gets 1 mid day treatment of Xopenex mixed with atrovent, The other treatments are Xopenex/Pulmicort. My question is ... What are the benefits of using Atrovent daily? What does it provide that Xopenex/ Albuterol does not?

By the way our daughter is doing wonderful and weights 34 pounds. No cough and is the picture of health. Enzymes and 3 breathing treatments with the CPT vest, that's it.

atrovent is a different type of medicine to open up the bronchial walls. it works differently from albuterol and xopenex. It also can help decrease secretions. I am glad your daughter is doing well, I hope things continue this way.!
