possible insecticide poisoningAfter having sprayed a whole large can of flying insect spray I had violent coughing for several days, has diminished somewhat, but now 9 months later I still have lots of coughing. Within 2 months after the spraying incident, I had mild hemoptysis and have had it every 3 weeks since then, the fingertip ends have begun to resemble "clubbed" fingers, severe fatigue, Raynaud's syndrom a few times where the fingers go completely white, all foods have terrible bitter taste contributing to not much appetite and weight loss, and severe "comes and goes" but frequent joint pain and inflammation in hands, knees and ankles. There has been no difficulty breathing or chest pain Urinalysis and complete blood work showed everything OK except slight iron deficient anemia from red blood cells being too small. Lung X Ray and CT showed 6 cm "undiscernible spot" on top of lung. This CT did not conclude possible cancer. Due to lack of Med. insurance and not wanting to be put through the rigors of conventional medicine I have not pursued further. I cannot take any medications, they throw me for a loop. I took naproxen sodium for the joint pain that seemed to help, but it hurt my stomach so badly I had to quit. Any suggestions for meds. for the joint pain that would not hurt my stomach? If I could just help this joint pain I would feel much better. Is it possible judging from these symptoms, that I was poisoned from this spray and if so, is it possible that it is still in my system now 9 mos. later? If I took toxins in from the spray, would it have shown up on lung CT as some sort of damage? I know I need to see a pulmonologist but cannot afford it. Thanks for your help.
Re: possible insecticide poisoningThere are pulmonologists at university and general hospitals where it doesn't matter if you don't have insurance. The insect spray could have irritated your lungs but it is unlikely to cause these persistant symptoms. I would encourage you to seek out medical care at a hospital that takes people without insurance as there is no way I can give you the answers you seek.
