Pleural Effusion

My husband had a chronic cough for two months. He developed a large pleural effusion He underwent a Thorancentesiswhich removed 500 cc of clear-like fluid, which all came back negative for Malignant cells. This "inflammation prosess" also started to affect his eye sight, because FLUID was also building up behind his Retinas. A Thoracic surgeon went into the Pleural (VATS Procedure) space and took several biopsies, ALL biopsies came back negative for malignancies and for fungus, Bacilli, TB....Great right? Well we still don't know why this is happening. He has also been tested for Rhuematoid factors, Lupus Sarcoidosis Allergies,... This appears to be an Immune Response.(?) We will visit a Rheumatologist this week. What I need from you all is some suggestions of things to ask him to test for, etc... Desperate at this point. Thanks in advance.

have they checked for coxsackie B?

Probably not since this is the first time ever hearing of it. What is this? He's much better now but he's on 40 mg of Prednisone also.
