I was exposed

Post a new topicby Guest on Mon Apr 15, 2002 10:03 pm

I work in a welfare office and was notified by a local hospital that a client I spent an hour with on the 8th is now in quarantine - she was hospitalized hours after the interview with full blown TB. A co-worker and I went to the health dept. today and received our tests, but it will be Wed. before we get results. Her test and mine from the beginning looked different (mine lumped up, hers didn't.) I already have SLE - it's been in remission for a couple of years and I've been able to work fulltime. Is there any info out there about TB and SLE combined? I need to do something other than pace the next 36 hours. Thank you.

There should not be a problem with your SLE here. Either you had a significant exposure to tb or not. that is the point of the test. typically patients with sle who get tb are on steroids and that increases their risks.
