Someone with active pulmonary tb who is considered by his or her doctor and the state medical society to be infectious should be isolated from others. There are people with tb who are not infectious to others, such as people who have received therapy for a few weeks.

I have a handicapped fostre child and he had Bronkitis 6 weeks ago and now phneumonia, the Doctor thinks he might have TB, I have grandkids that I am worried about catching it if Abe does have it, do I NEED to worry? And also what about me catching it? Linda Brittain

you need to call the public health department to determine if you and the other children are at risk. I can't tell you whether the foster child is infectious but someone there should be able to help you.
